___________________________
The Perl and Raku Conference or TPRC (formerly known as YAPC::NA) is a high-quality, inexpensive technical conference with its roots in the Perl Mongers user groups. The conference celebrates the Perl and Raku programming languages. It is meant to be accessible to anyone, regardless of experience, yet valuable to even the most skilled programmers. Each year, the conference attracts programmers from around the world.
This year’s conference has a slightly different format from previous years. The main conference will be Friday through Sunday, June 26, 27, and 28. A single track will run across all three days; this year we are adding “interactive” sessions between the presentations, to take advantage of us all being face-to-face. As usual, a hacking space will be available on throughout the conference, and also on the “shoulder days” (Thursday and and Monday). Also, on Monday, June 29, we’ll have an all-day small-group class.
Registration: Early Bird registration is extended to May 28! (The same day the hotel block closes.)
Class: Teaching A.I. New Tricks: Perly MCPs for Claude.
How to book a room at the hotel: Follow this link, or learn more on the Location page.
Submit a talk, or proposal for interactive session: https://forms.gle/94zKcavdoxwsA1idA
(Closed until 3 days before the conference starts, when it will reopen for Lightning Talks)
“Pizza & Planets” Special Event!

We’ve planned a very special event for this year’s conference. On Friday evening, we’ll have pizza at the conference venue, then shuttle over to Roper Mountain Science Center for a 7:30 PM show at the Hooper Planetarium! Your ticket to the conference includes the pizza dinner AND the show. The local astronomy club is supposed to be out, as well, and the Daniel Observatory is planned to be open! The planetarium show will be:

James Webb Space Telescope: The Story Unfolds
Discover the furthermost reaches of the universe as revealed by the James Webb Space Telescope, the most powerful telescope ever built. Witness the evolution of galaxies, the life cycle of stars, and strange, distant worlds in this live, interactive show. Updated as new images are revealed, this show explores the spectacular advances in our knowledge of the universe. Guided live by a planetarium educator, every show is unique, immersive, and filled with views you don’t want to miss!
Saturday Evening Conference Dinner

Also included in your conference ticket is our Saturday evening dinner, catered by Smoky Dreams BBQ. A traditional Carolina BBQ with all the fixings and sauces will be on our buffet, plus sodas, tea, and regional beer and wine selections!
Theme
(or, why does South Carolina have a handle in our logo?)
Our theme for 2026 is “Perl is my cast-iron pan”. Perl is reliable, versatile, durable, and continues to be ever so useful! Just like your favorite cast-iron pan!
Raku might map to tempered steel; Also quite reliable and useful, with some very attractive updates!

Last year was our first time in the Palmetto State, and we had a great conference. We decided to make another visit to the tech and craft-brewing hub of the upstate area! We encourage you to stay a while, and explore everything Greenville, SC has to offer.
