Purpose<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Perl Foundation believes our community should be truly open for everyone. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, or country of origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This code of conduct outlines our expectations for participant behavior. We invite all sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, vendors, and other participants to help us realize a safe and positive conference experience for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Scope<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We expect all event participants (sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, vendors, and other guests) to abide by this code of conduct at all conference venues and conference-related social events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Expected Behavior<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be considerate, respectful, and collaborative.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behavior and speech.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alert conference organizers if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. Unacceptable Behavior<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Unacceptable behaviors include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning conduct by any attendees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Threats of violence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Incitement of violence towards any individual, including encouraging a person to commit suicide or to engage in self-harm<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustained disruption of talks or other events<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Harassment includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability (including presentation slides)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inappropriate use of nudity and\/or sexual images (including presentation slides);&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deliberate intimidation, stalking or following; harassing photography or recording<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deliberate misgendering or use of \u2018dead\u2019 or rejected names<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inappropriate physical contact<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unwelcome sexual attention<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Unacceptable behavior by other attendees, organizers, venue staff, sponsors, or other patrons of The Perl and Raku Conference venues will not be tolerated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If anyone engages in unacceptable behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate including expulsion from the conference without warning or refund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Incidents involving Raku community members will also be referred to The Raku Community Affairs Team per their <a href=\"https:\/\/raku.github.io\/Raku-Steering-Council\/papers\/CoC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Code of Conduct<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. Reporting Incidents<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are subject to unacceptable behavior, notice that someone else is being subject to unacceptable behavior, or have any other concerns, please notify a member of the SoC committee as soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Standards of Conduct committee\/incident responders for this conference will be announced as we approach the event<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To report an incident you can email <a href=\"soc@perlconference.us\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"soc@perlconference.us\">soc@perlconference.us<\/a> or contact one of the incident responders by private message on TPF Slack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7.
